Good News Club Prayer Requests November 30, 2009

Monday:

We will be scheduling Christmas Parties for December 7-16.  If you would like to host one (supply the location and snacks, and invite the children), please let Cora know as soon as possible.  We will supply the teachers and teaching materials.

Training Classes – Klamath Falls @ Immanuel Baptist — 10:00 a.m.
– Keep praying for teachers to prioritize coming to training class.

Tuesday:

Merrill Elementary – Gordon & Terry Aguiar – 1:45-2:45 p.m.

Stearns Elementary – Kathleen Sanderson – 2:45 p.m.

Praise that God has been bringing new children to the club, and that the children mostly seem to be interested and learning.  Pray for another helper as the club has been growing; also it would be good to have someone trained to teach who could substitute in a pinch.

Wednesday:
Bonanza Elementary – Laney Boersma – 11:15-Noon

Pray for little Daniel, who needs to be loved on.

Malin Elementary – Rae Arnold – 1:45-2:45 p.m.
Pray for wisdom for Rae to be able to encourage the older children to come to club and grow in the Lord.

Mills Elementary (K-3) Brent & Alice Carey – 2:00 p.m.
Praise: We’ve been receiving feedback from parents, and their kids are very excited, and cannot wait until the next week. That we have 12 enrolled. All Glory to Jesus!! Praise God that He is working despite our flaws!!
Prayers: For our complete wellness. That the kids will continue to be calmer, and for wisdom to deal with situations, as they may arise. That we would continue to live as second-mile Christians, and be able to teach the kids how to live that way. For those who have not accepted Jesus as Savior, that the light will be turned on in their minds (by God), and that they will realize their need for HIM!!

Mills Elementary (4-6) Kathy Hampson – 2:00 p.m.
Pray for wisdom to disciple the children.  Pray that she will be able to make contact with parents and invite them to church.  Pray for a helper for this club, someone willing and committed to serving God in this ministry.

Thursday:

Bly (Gearhart) – Mona Boggs – 11:30-12:15 p.m.

Praise that all twelve elementary students are coming to the club now!  One of the new students is eleven – pray that she will love hearing the lessons and that she would grow in faith.

Chiloquin Elementary – Melodie Simms & Gale Willis – 3:00 p.m.

Fairview Elementary – Kathleen Sanderson – 2:45 p.m.
Please pray that all the children signed up would be at club.  Praise for children who are listening and growing in the Lord, and praise that many of the children have Christian families and are in church and being taught God’s Word at home, too.

Lakeview Elementary (Fremont/Hay) – Cora Johnson & Renee Hathaway – 2:30 p.m.

Pray for someone willing and committed to become the teacher of this club.  Please pray for good health for both children and teachers, and for more children to attend.  Keep Cora in prayer for safe travel as she continues to drive over to Lakeview until a teacher is found.

Sprague River – Lee Dickerson – 4:00 – 5:00 p.m.

Friday:

Keno Elementary – Doug Hallock – 3:15 p.m.

Praise God for 25 kids who have made Keno GNC a regular part of their week, and for parents who encourage them in that!  Pray that we leaders would love them well, and that we’d teach God’s word well, and that we’d continue to have a gracious welcome with the Keno Elementary staff.

It’s the week of Thanksgiving, and school is out Wednesday through Friday, so only two clubs will be meeting this week — Merrill and Stearns.  We will be having Thanksgiving Parties, talking mostly about giving thanks to God for all His great blessings.  We praise God for all He has done for us, most of all for giving us His own precious Son, Jesus Christ, to pay for our sins so that we might be reconciled with Him for eternity.

Also praise God for a good meeting with families at the Abundant Life preschool — we talked to several families who are interested in having their children in Good News Clubs!

Prayer requests:  Cora’s family will be traveling to Klamath Falls to spend Thanksgiving Day with her.  Kathleen’s grandmother, Ella, will be traveling to Albany by train on Wednesday; she’s spending Thanksgiving with some of my uncle’s family in that area, then going on to Walla Walla, WA with my uncle to stay for a month or so.  I’m sure others have family traveling, too, so please be praying for safe travel and a good holiday for everyone.

Keep Brent and Alice Carey in prayer for their health, as they’ve been ill quite a bit.

And please be praying for all of the children, that they would have a safe and good holiday, and come back to Good News Club next week refreshed and ready to learn more about God and the Bible.

Monday:
Praise! The new video camera to film the teacher training session each week has arrived! This will help provide DVD’s of the sessions to those teachers who are not able to attend each week.  It was used to film today’s Teacher Training for the first time.

– Keep praying for teachers to prioritize coming to training class.

– Please keep Mona in prayer for her health.

Tuesday:

– Praise for the Mailbox Club ministry and the opportunity that the children have to learn and study God’s Word.
– Pray for the children to do their Mailbox study of God’s Word.

Stearns Elementary – Kathleen Sanderson – 2:45 p.m.
– Praise God for that all the children who were signed up did attend club AND we had a new little girl.  Another child had signed up but wasn’t there – please pray that he’ll come this week.
– Please pray that all the children who are signed up would continue to come to club; that they would be interested and that God’s Word would be presented clearly and accurately. Please pray also for good health for both children and teachers – we had two children leave club last week because they were sick. Pray that God would help Kathleen grow to be a better teacher.

Wednesday:

– Praise for the children who are coming, and for those who work with them.
– Pray for Mona as she begins helping with this club, hoping to lead songs and do the memory verses.

Malin Elementary – Rae Arnold – 1:45-2:45 p.m.
– Praises! Thirty-three out of thirty-four enrolled were present last week, plus there were two visitors!
– Pray for the teachers’ health, and also for the children. Also pray for helpers to walk the children between school and club during January.  Pray that the Lord will keep the teachers encouraged, and keep reaching the children.

– Praise that the school staff are open to having the Good News Club in their school; praise for the children who attend, and for helper Kathryn.
– Pray that all the children who are signed up would attend Club, and grow in God’s Word.

Lakeview Elementary (Fremont/Hay) – Cora Johnson & Renee Hathaway – 2:30 p.m.
– Praise that God has kept Cora safe traveling back and forth to Lakeview; praise for the children and helpers who have been coming to club.  Praise that five children learned their memory verses.
– Pray for someone willing and committed to become the teacher of this club, and for more helpers. Please pray for good health for both children and teachers, and for more children to attend.

Sprague River – Lee Dickerson – 4:00 – 5:00 p.m.

Friday:

Keno Elementary – Doug Hallock – 3:15 p.m.
We had 28 kids in attendance this week, We’ve got a great bunch of kids, many are very teachable and excited to learn God’s Word!

Stearns Elementary – Kathleen Sanderson – 2:45 p.m.
– Praise God for the good relationship with the school staff; for helper Robin; and for the children who are attending.
– Please pray that all the children who are signed up would come to club; that they would be interested and that God’s Word would be presented clearly and accurately. Please pray also for good health for both children and teachers. Prepare hearts as Kathleen plans to talk to a young lady about helping with a club (either Stearns or Fairview) and being mentored to possibly be a teacher in the future.

Wednesday:
