Prayers: For our complete wellness. That the kids will continue to be calmer, and for wisdom to deal with situations, as they may arise. That we would continue to live as second-mile Christians, and be able to teach the kids how to live that way. For those who have not accepted Jesus as Savior, that the light will be turned on in their minds (by God), and that they will realize their need for HIM!!

Mills Elementary (4-6) Kathy Hampson – 2:00 p.m.

TCE Begins This Week!

Posted On October 12th, 2009 in Prayer Requests by kathleen

The TCE class, Teaching Children Effectively, will begin this Friday, October 16, at 3:30 pm.  There are three and perhaps four students signed up for this excellent course on teaching God’s Word to children.  Please pray that they will be able to attend consistently, and that they will learn from and be blessed by the course.

Please also keep Cora and the other teachers in prayer, as some will be traveling to get here.  Pray that they will be effective teachers.

Good News Club Updates

Posted On October 12th, 2009 in Prayer Requests by kathleen

This week’s prayer requests for some of the Good News Clubs:

Merrill — please pray that the older children would accept that God created everything, that they would be softened in their hearts to receive the truth.

Bly — praise for ten students (one new)! It’s a great class! Pray for quality quiet time for the students, both in Revelations and in Genesis; and for spiritual growth. Also please pray that Mona’s coumadin levels would be stable.

Malin — Praise that enrollment has gone from twenty-nine to thirty-four! Had thirty present at the last class. The children have been excellent, as have the helpers, and the school is cooperating wonderfully.

Mills (younger group) — Praise that there are ten children enrolled! Please pray for the children, that they will be able to sit still, be calm, and listen to God’s Word. We also still need a helper or helpers.

Stearns — Praise that we had three new students enroll last week! Most of our students this year have come to GNC before, except for younger siblings who are coming for the first time — this is a blessing, as it means they know what Good News Club is, and want to be there! Please pray that God’s Word would be presented clearly and accurately, and that the children would receive it in their hearts, and that their families would begin attending a Biblically sound church if they aren’t already doing so. Also we still need another helper, at least a substitute.

Fairview — Praise for two new students attending and three more who took permission forms home to get filled out. Please pray that God’s Word would be presented clearly and accurately, and that the children would receive it in their hearts, and that their families would begin attending a Biblically sound church if they aren’t already doing so. Also we still need another helper, at least a substitute. But praise for Kathryn Halmos, Kathleen’s new helper! She’s great! Kathleen has a personal request, also — please pray for her oldest daughter, Cedar, and Cedar’s husband, Phil, as they are having some serious problems and need to grow in the Lord.
