Tuesday:

Merrill Elementary – Gordon & Terry Aguiar – 1:45-2:45 p.m.

Sandi Masterson’s Home — Sandi Masterson — 4:00-5:30 pm Pray that the children will be faithful to attend club, and will grow spiritually.  Pray for Sandi’s health and finances.

Stearns Elementary – Kathleen Sanderson – 2:45 p.m. Praise the Lord that Jasmine and Sharice want to attend CYIA training this year (they are both twelve, so will attend the one-day training).  Pray for the children who weren’t at Club this week, for their health.  And please keep Robin Rockholt in prayer (our helper).

Wednesday:
Bonanza Elementary – Laney Boersma – 11:15-Noon

Mills Elementary — Kathy Hampson – 2:00 p.m.

Nazarene Church — Cora Johnson — 7:00 p.m. Pray for a core of teachers for the Wednesday evening children’s program as they transition from the leaders who are leaving.  Pray for the many unchurched children who are attending.

Thursday:

Bly (Gearhart) – Mona Boggs – 11:30-12:15 p.m. Mona has been encouraging the children to share the Wordless Book with friends and family; please pray that they will have the courage to do this and that the Holy Spirit would give fruit!  Pray for spiritual growth for the children.  Pray for Anna, that she’d be able to go to the CYIA One-Day training.  And please pray for more teachers.

Bonanza — Laney Boersma — 11:15-Noon

Chiloquin Elementary – Sandi Masterson – 3:00 p.m. Pray for spiritual growth in the children, and for salvation for their families.

Lakeview Elementary (Fremont/Hay) – Cora Johnson & Renee Hathaway – 2:30 p.m. Praise for new helpers at Lakeview, Candi and her sister!  Keep Cora in prayer, as she will be driving to Lakeview this Thursday – pray for safe travel for her.  Pray for Renee and her family.

Sprague River – Gale Willis, Mike Perdue, Lee Dickerson – 4:00 – 5:00 p.m. Pray for Drew, who just received Jesus as Savior, that he would desire to grow in the Lord.  Pray for Daniel and his family.  Pray for peace in the children’s hearts; for salvation for the parents; and please pray for good health for everyone.

Friday:

Keno Elementary – Doug Hallock – 3:15 p.m. Praise God for 25 kids who have made Keno GNC a regular part of their week (a total of 42 children are enrolled), and for parents who encourage them in that!  Pray that we leaders would love them well, and that we’d teach God’s word well, and that we’d continue to have a gracious welcome with the Keno Elementary staff.

TCE 1 begins on January 25, 2010.  It will be held on Mondays, from 1-3 pm, at Immanuel Baptist Church (225 N. End-of-Summer Updates

Posted On September 17th, 2009 in General Info, Prayer Requests by kathleen

The two 5-Day Clubs in Lakeview had 24 children enrolled, who were all excited about future opportunities to learn.  One day in particular, the children were asking question after question about Jesus, the punishment for sin, and much more.  The next day, one of the girls asked me [Cora], “How do you remember all this stuff [the Bible lessons]?”  I [Cora] had to smile as I encouraged her to start learning now!

As a result of our 5-Day Club in Lakeview last week, we have three helpers for a Good News Club, but no teacher yet.  I [Cora] am considering making the trip for the first six weeks of club, in hopes of training one of the helpers or a new volunteer to take over as the next teacher.

Klamath County Fair went well, with 184 children attending, and about forty children indicating decisions to receive Christ.

Bonanza Hobby Fair had 75-100 children come through, eager to hear the Gospel, thanks to the free water balloon yo-yos provided by several generous benefactors.  As a result, at least one mom reported receiving Christ there.  Praise God for Margie Dark, who recruited all the volunteers to tell the children the ‘Wordless Book’ as they made their colored bracelets.

We had our first Teacher’s Meeting on Monday, August 24th, with about ten people in attendance (not bad for still being in summer!), including two new teachers:  Kathy Hampson, and Mona Boggs!  I [Cora] encouraged them all with some specific ways to grow in their clubs this year, in evangelizing, descipling, and establishing the boys and girls in a local church.

Prayer requests:  finances are definitely tight, but God has been providing.  Please pray that He will continue to provide.

For new teachers and helpers, and for churches to help with the cost of materials for the clubs, and with providing snacks for the children.

For Kathleen, who is helping in the office a couple of hours a week, that she’ll be able to be a real help to the ministry (and learn her way around the office!).

For the children who will be attending the Good News Clubs, that they will be saved, discipled, and settled in membership at a Bible-believing church.  And for the teachers and helpers, that they will be prepared for each lesson both physically and spiritually, so that God will be glorified.

Klamath County Fair Report and More

Posted On August 11th, 2009 in General Info, Prayer Requests by kathleen

Klamath County Fair was great, thanks to several people pitching in at the last minute to help cover shifts!  186 children listened to stories presenting the Gospel, and 42 indicated decisions to receive Christ.  Praise God!

Several parents also indicated interest in having their children attend a Good News Club, including several whose children attend schools where we don’t have Clubs yet — let’s pray that God will provide the teachers and open doors so we can reach all the children.

This week Cora, Angela, and Malea are teaching a 5-Day Club at the Myron home, with several children attending, and next week Cora and Malea will be in Lakeview teaching two 5-Day Clubs, so please keep them in prayer, for safety and that God’s Word would be received by the children they teach.

Cora is also deep in preparations for the upcoming school year.  The first teacher training session will be on August 24, at Immanuel Baptist Church in Klamath Falls, at 10:00 am.  We will discuss possibly having an evening training session, as well as going over the materials we’ll be using and ordering materials.

Gearing Up For a New School Year!

Teachers throughout Klamath and Lake Counties will meet August 24th to gather resources for a full year of reaching boys and girls through the Good News Clubs.  Join us in praying for new schools to be reached and new teachers and helpers to be part of the team.
